Tene Yerushalmi is committed to foster young adults’ communities in Jerusalem who create a network of progressive social-activism in the city. Tene Yerushalmi was founded in 2011 by five collaborative urban communities that have been involved in Jerusalem-based activism for the last decade. Today the graduates of our various educational programs, originally coming from both the periphery and center of Israel, are members of Tene Yerushalmi and take leading positions in our organization. Thus, the vision of our founder communities now enjoys a wider circle of partnerships which carry it onwards. The organization’s core educational philosophy connects theory and practice. In all of our programs the participants are highly involved in the community around them and are engaged in community work, with a focus on fostering education in the peripheral neighborhood of Jerusalem, Kiryat Hayovel.
