Ruach Nahon was established as a non-profit organization in the spirit of the late Rabbi Menachen Froman. It was founded by a group of young adults living in Jerusalem, including educators and intellectuals. Faced with many growing schisms between the city’s sectors, they wanted to shape Jerusalem into a force for social unity, while creating a uniquely Israeli language and culture founded on Jewish traditions, in the spirit of humanism and pluralism. Since its inception, Ruach Nachon has had a significant impact upon the city’s education, culture, the humanities, and art. The organization runs a mechina (pre-military) program in the Musrara neighborhood, focused on Jewish renewal and creativity.
